ABSTRACT Purpose The main objective of the present study was to examine contribution rapid automatized naming (RAN) reading rate and text comprehension. We also analyzed whether performance on a task in first year schooling could be predictor future skill speed Methods Forty protocols with phonological processing skills assessments were analyzed, namely: naming, awareness working memory, as well assessment comprehension, carried out 2008 2011, when children respectively, 2nd 5th grades Elementary School I. Results For grade, RAN objects able predict their speed, whereas for letters plays such role.
