ABSTRACT Purpose The main objective of the present study was to examine contribution rapid automatized naming (RAN) reading rate and text comprehension. We also analyzed whether performance on a task in first year schooling could be predictor future skill speed Methods Forty protocols with phonological processing skills assessments were analyzed, namely: naming, awareness working memory, as well assessment comprehension, carried out 2008 2011, when children respectively, 2nd 5th grades Elementary School I.
